Bringing it back { Bits & Pieces Tuesday} Outfit Post

This weekend I was introduced to the infamous Sock Bun. Thanks Jill by the way! She rocked it so well while we were shooting last weekends wedding.  Althought admittely I totally rocked this look in the 90′s. Except instead of a sock I used one of those huge scrunchies! You know the ones you can see from a mile away. Thought I was so clever back then, it was like my hidden secret. But that’s fashion I guess. Always coming back.

Update 101 in 1001 {Bits & Pieces Tuesday}

So I decided that it would be great for me to go back to my 101 in 1001  list I made back in February. Thinking of course that I would have crossed off a lot of things on that list. Well that dream quickly died. It’s actually quite funny because over the past few months I had accomplished some new things, now realizing that none of them were on the list. Making it now 201 in 1001. But after 4 months here are some of the things I’ve gotten done!

-Reorganize my closet

-Organize inbox

-Get a new journal and start writing

-Attend a photography workshop

-Create new website

-Exchange portraits with another photographer

-Network with other photographers

-Organize a styled shoot

-Start a weekly blog category

-Create client package

- Get photography published on blog

And because a post just  isn’t as great without a picture. Here is what is coming soon!

Chris & Ruth{Wedding-Second shooter}

I cannot thank Lauren Gabrielle enough for allowing me to second shoot with her. This was my first time I’ve ever second shot and the experience was so positive all around. This wedding was a Romanian wedding. Everyone was so inviting and genuine. The bride and groom even stayed and chatted with us at Starbucks after the wedding while we were waiting for are ride. Just to show you how completely kind and amazing Chris and Ruth where. I was completely floored. Although the Romanians don’t dance the experience as part of their wedding tradition, the wedding was such a blast! Thank you again Lauren Gabrielle for allowing me to partner with you for this day!

Making it happen { Bits & Pieces Tuesday}

Honestly when I saw this I couldn’t think of a better way to describe where my life is headed right now. I believe there is a season for everything. A time to dream, a time to wait, and a time to move. I feel blessed to finally be in a place where things can finally start happening. And the dreams and ideas that I’ve had and wanted are finally making a move. From finally taking steps to make the visit to Africa, to being able to travel to different states and take on new adventures, to having opportunities  to lead in Ministry and to having people that have been amazing and willing to help me learn video to be able to one day film a documentary. It’s funny because nothing has really changed as far as circumstances, the only thing that changed was my attitude and finally deciding to take blind leaps. You would be surprised how many people are willing to help,once you make your ideas known. I believe there comes a point where even if all the details aren’t all laid out, or the finances aren’t all there you have to stop dreaming, start believing and start moving.

Chris + Kayla {Engagement Session}

 2 months!!  2 wonderful  months until I get to photograph these two on probably one of the most important days of their life. I feel so honored to be able to share this journey with them. Their love is so apparent, built on a relationship that is rooted deeply in what will be a God centered marriage.  With dreams of serving together in Haiti or serving where ever the Lords leads them I am excited to see where they go! And can I just say, all the props in this shoot where allll from the creative mind of Kayla. And trust me I’ve gotten some of the wedding details so much more amazingness is going to be documented!! I simply cannot(underline, underline) wait. Without further adu…

A month in Pictures {B&P Tuesday}

May was what I thought would be a slow month. And it parts it was but what ended up happening was I was able to spend so much time with family and friends that it honestly almost flew by. So this what I was up to over the past few weeks!

1. I love when I can meet with old friends and we just start from where we left off.

2. Shot my first completely prop filled engagement session.Seriously can’t wait to share the rest! I love my couples!

3.Was able to spend some time doing location scouting

4. Spend some time with the lil sis, watching Avengers on 3d. If you have not seen it. Go!

5. Getting in the word. Honestly trying so hard to spend more time in it. But have grown so much over the past few weeks. Thankful for how God is working on me.

6. I had to find a cheaper way to supplement my Jamba Juice habit

7. Shot a styled session that I am soo in love with

8. Cut the weave off!! and now my hair is completely natural.  I’ll be working the curls!

9. Decided it’s time to get Sallie Mae off my back. Hoping to get some help from this guy!

That’s it!! Can’t wait for what this next month will hold!

Dying yes, I’m dying over these images. Maricar you are amazing and beautiful thank you for being a part of this shoot! Shoots like this is honestly something I want to include in my photography more frequently! I love working with the ladies I have worked with to create an amazing vision for each individual person. Maricar so rocked everything! Can’t wait to shoot with her again!
