03.4.13
A couple weeks ago I decided to head back to the place that inspired me to do photography. I got to meet with old friends and also make new ones. And I also go to do an amazing shoot with amazing people. Can’t thank all the insanely talented vendors enough for being so kind and giving to create this vision of mine. Here are some of the pics from the shoot I did while down there!

Cheers to Food and a New Hobby

07.3.13
I usually complain about the long winters we have here but I am now more than thankful for the time I have to reinvest in myself and my brand. So, as I’m going through this process of rebranding, their are a lot of things I am learning about myself. Things that I never really knew that were a strong part of who I am. Which brings me to this, I LOVE of food! Especially comfort food. I love getting the chance to just sit and relax while drinking hot chocolate, or waiting for that right moment to eat that piece of cake. Food gets me to slow down and I love that! I’ve always loved food but I never realized that this was something I could incorporate into my branding. And not only do I love food but I love baking and cooking. Something new I’ve discovered about myself in the past few months. So cheers to food, a new hobby and Carrot Cake cupcakes! And for those who enjoy food just as much as I do!
Shorts in the winter/ Outfit Post

Ahh I’m getting sick of wearing jeans! Winter has definitely overstayed it’s welcome. But that’s okay, this season I’ve learned the wonders of tights. From shorts to dresses, I’ve worn it all, while still staying comfortable and warm. So take that winter!

Wow what an amazing year it’s been! Throughout the beginning and even through the middle I had no idea what was in store for me this year! I can’t thank the amazing clients that I got to work with enough for trusting in me and for just being such amazing supporters. Truly I can call every client a friend and for that I am forever grateful. 2012 you have been amazing to me and Lord thank you so much for the amazing journey of 2012. Here is a recap of a few of my favorite sessions of 2012, including my absolute favorite shoot of 2012 at the end!

Reminiscing // a year in the making

As the year ends, something we photographers do is reflect on how the year went. And as I reflect on 2012 I am also reflecting on my photography career as a whole. Since it’s only been about a year of shooting. A year I’ve learned and grown so so much A year filled with incredible changes, trials, accomplishments and pure joy! The other day I was looking through some videos and came across this one, from one of my first shoots and my very first styled shoot. It’s so great to see where I started and I’ve taken nothing from then on for granted. Sometimes looking back at your work from when you very first started, it gives you that spark back. You remember why shoot, you remember the fire you had, you remember the hard work and the hustle. You remember why you fell in love with it. My photo’s may not look exactly the same, my equipment may not be the same but that girl who gave her heart and soul into her work is still here. Excited to bring more of that fire and then some into 2013!
p.s I’m not quite sure what I was wearing during this shoot…..hopefully I have also grown fashion wise
Karlin + Isac Second Shooting // San Diego Wedding

05.12.12
I think the post on facebook started off something like, I really want to go to San Diego and shoot a wedding!! And in enters Bethany Belle! And with the pop of a Facebook message I was on my way to San Diego!! She let me come along and second shoot Karlin and Isac’s wedding. I am soo grateful!! San Diego is simply beautiful, everything I had imagined. And the wedding was nothing short of that. When I asked Bethany if the wedding was indoors or outdoors, I loved how she said all or most California weddings are outdoors! haha coming from an Illnois girl I felt a little silly. But another reason to love California. Here are some of my shots from this amazing wedding!
Change is good {Branding/Packaging}

21.9.12
Change is good. I never want to be someone who see’s no room for growth or improvement. Actually as a creative it’s kind of how I’m wired. I’m always looking for ways I can do things better. So I finally decided to take a new leap in some of my branding/packaging. I finally made the jump into offering USB’s for weddings! and I have to say as soon as I got them I fell in love. Kind of wish I would have done it a lot sooner. Another change is I updated my welcome packets and put together my own wedding brochure to further help my clients with their wedding day. All which involved A LOT of hard work and some late nights. But overall I am so happy with how everything turned out!
