I‘m feeling pretty calm and excited to see everything to come together. Who wouldn’t want to hear a bride say that. Karen is the definition of a bride who decided to enjoy each and every moment of her wedding day. With no stress but instead excited, ready and yet calm. And I must add that Karen’s eye for detail was simply amazing! Everything was just so well put together and so elegantly planned out.
I shared some of Karen and Scotts love story here. A couple who just make eachother laugh and smile. A true love that was shared with family and friends on October 6th, 2012 in a beautiful outdoor wedding.
This was the last wedding of my wedding season and I couldn’t have asked for a more amazing couple to spend the moment with. Karen and Scott I am soo honored to have shot your wedding. You two are truly beautiful people that make my job a dream. I am so thankful for allowing me to be a part of your story.

Change is good {Branding/Packaging}

Change is good. I never want to be someone who see’s no room for growth or improvement. Actually as a creative it’s kind of how I’m wired. I’m always looking for ways I can do things better. So I finally decided to take a new leap in some of my branding/packaging. I finally made the jump into offering USB’s for weddings! and I have to say as soon as I got them I fell in love. Kind of wish I would have done it a lot sooner. Another change is I updated my welcome packets and put together my own wedding brochure to further help my clients with their wedding day. All which involved A LOT of hard work and some late nights. But overall I am so happy with how everything turned out!

It’s funny how things work out sometimes. You may have an idea of how you want something to go and it turns out going totally different then you expected. Far better even! I remember working with these amazing photographers whom I now call friends like it was yesterday. We had plans to just create a shoot to build our portfolio’s and really to have an excuse to hang out and shoot! We had no plans of getting our shoot published. We had thought about submitting to blogs but realized it would just be to much of a hassle. So we just let it be a shoot for us just to have fun! But low and behold our hard work payed off. A couple of days ago our shoot got the honor and priviledge of being featured in ISS Magazine summer Issue! I am so excited and just goes to show hard work really does pay off in the end.

Words. Sometimes the right words to say are hard to find. Almost like true love. But once you find it’s just so apparent. It feels right. Like this amazing couple Christian and Kayla. A true story of love, friendship and centered on nothing else then the love of Christ. A story I am so glad I got to be a part of! The love in the room was so apparent. Expecially the wonderful friendship between Kayla and her brother( who was actually chosen as the man of honor). The day couldn’t have been more perfect. And let me tell ya, I had to fight back tears a couple of times. And I just have to say Kayla and her mom are so crafty. From the flower arrangements to the amazing centerpieces, everything was DIY. Wait till you see.
I honestly love this couple and feel completely blessed to be a part of their lives. Christian and Kayla I wish you all the best as you enter into this new stage of life together!

Elizabeth + Bobby {Chicago,IL Wedding} Second shooting

The weather called for pouring rain. But instead started with clear blue skies in the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago. I couldn’t thank Jordan enough for allowing me to be a part of this big day for Elizabeth and Bobby. I actually met Jordan in May through an amazing photography conference called the fix( which also I blogged about). We just clicked and I am soo glad we did. We ran, we did some damage control, we navigated through downtown traffic and when the rain finally did come down we braved through it. This wedding was an adventure to say the least. But a fun, beautiful adventure the was filled with love and a beautiful ending. So glad I got to be a part of this special day and here are some of the images I captured of the day.

I honestly can’t even think of where to begin. This wedding was so dear to my heart. It’s partly a reflection of where God has taken me over the past year and most importantly the love of 2 friends I hold close to my heart! Laura and Daniel met in college. A love destined that Laura didn’t quite know yet. And as her roommate I was able to be there throughout bits and pieces of their journey.They became friends and after a couple months of being pursued Laura finally decided to take the leap into what would be a day of celebration on July 21st, 2012 in Galena,IL. The love surrounding them on that day from family and friends was completely evident and the love between them was undeniable. I honestly felt so honored to be their photographer on this day. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this would be my life let alone, being able to document the special day of some of the people most close to me. I am so excited to share this moment. Two of the most kind hearted, loving and selfless people I know. Love you Daniel and Laura!

I cannot thank Lauren Gabrielle enough for allowing me to second shoot with her. This was my first time I’ve ever second shot and the experience was so positive all around. This wedding was a Romanian wedding. Everyone was so inviting and genuine. The bride and groom even stayed and chatted with us at Starbucks after the wedding while we were waiting for are ride. Just to show you how completely kind and amazing Chris and Ruth where. I was completely floored. Although the Romanians don’t dance the experience as part of their wedding tradition, the wedding was such a blast! Thank you again Lauren Gabrielle for allowing me to partner with you for this day!
